Voluptuous Noise Guitars Gentle Stumble

Voluptuous Noise Guitars Gentle Stumble

Gentle Stumble is handmade by Markus Sjöberg at Voluptuous Noise Guitars in Gröndal, Stockholm. Swedish alder meets a maple top from the USA, a European maple neck and an ebony fingerboard from Cameroon. The 622 mm scale gives the model a compact format.

A vintage DiMarzio Super Distortion from the late 1970s or early 1980s is paired with CTS pots, a NOS paper-in-oil capacitor and 50s wiring. An aluminium pickguard and truss rod cover, incorporating a repurposed piece of a single-coil pickup cover, add a personal touch. The finish is shellac and Tru-Oil.

The work takes place both in the workshop and at the kitchen table, alongside family life. Each guitar lives with Markus and his sons from the first drawing to the finished instrument.
