Guitar repairs

We are pleased to announce our collaboration with Guitar Geeks!

They possess an exceptional craftsmanship in guitar repairs, and Daniel also has a background at TGT11. We will accept instruments for most repairs or adjustments at Kocksgatan, and they will be picked up and returned on Mondays. In most cases, you will be able to collect your instrument after one-two weeks.

When you bring your instrument to us, we will go through your guitar or bass together and suggest the type of service we think it needs. Once the repair or adjustment is complete, we will contact you by phone or email. If Guitar Geeks encounter any issues, they will contact you directly.

Some types of work we accept: Instrument adjustments, pickup replacement, repairing/replacing electronics, neck breaks, fret leveling, refretting, crack repairs, neck resets, restringing guitars, and much more.

🛠️ How much does it cost to set up a guitar?

A full setup with us starts at 1200 SEK and includes fret polishing, intonation of guitar/bass, string height adjustment, electronics check, and a full inspection of the instrument to see if anything else needs repair. Of course, we’ll contact you if anything deviates from the price plan.

🔧 How much does it cost to repair a crack in a guitar?

Some cracks are harder to fix than others and require more work. A small crack in the body usually costs around 600–1000 SEK to glue and reinforce from the inside.
Extra costs may apply for lacquer touch-up if desired.

🔁 How much does a refret cost?

There are many factors involved, so it's difficult to say exactly. Basic labor cost is around 4000 SEK.
Additional costs may apply if you want stainless steel frets, a lacquered fretboard, or leveling of uneven fretboards.

🪵 Making a new nut?

We make our own high-quality nuts from scratch. We fit and file the new nut to your instrument and adjust string height according to your wishes.

🎤 How much does it cost to install/replace pickups?

Pickup installs vary in time and are billed per hour. Welcome to discuss which type of pickup you want to install and what the job would cost.

🔘 How much to replace a potentiometer?

Replacing a pot or a switch is usually not too expensive. We have many models in stock and the expertise to help.

🔇 How to get rid of fret buzz?

There are many causes of fret buzz or "bad fretboard feel." A simple leveling or adjustment often solves it. Bring it in, and we’ll check it out together.

🎸 How much to change string gauge/setup for new strings?

Changing to a different string gauge may require a new setup. A Floyd Rose takes a bit longer and usually costs a few hundred SEK more.

🔩 Does your guitar have high frets?

High frets can be caused by loose fret ends or similar issues. Bring your instrument in and we’ll take a look. You’ll get a quote after the inspection.

🪚 Planing the fretboard

Planing the whole neck and fretboard flat and even takes time but often makes guitars and basses much easier to play. The fretboard becomes more consistent, reducing fret buzz and allowing for lower action.
