Blackface, Brownface & Tweed Circuits
Leo Fender first popularized blackface and tweed circuits in the 1950's. The former has a chimey, full frequency range that won't overdrive until higher volumes, while the latter is more unforgiving and percussive. Brownface bridges the gap between the two. This adds more midrange punch and reigns in the highs. Renowned for making gorgeous tremolos.
Speakers & Cabinets
The PR35's 18w of power is suited for studio work and gigging volumes. The Warehouse G12C 1x12 speaker projects plenty of crispy drive out of the PR35's light Solid Welsh Pine enclosure. Emitting dynamic lows and loads of mid-range punch, this speaker has an articulate top-end that accurately captures the classic Cali sound.
Pine cabinets offer excellent circuitry protection. It provides an airy tone, exacerbated by the PR35's open-back design. You can mic up the cabinet from the rear to achieve a more three-dimensional sound.
