James Tyler Studio Elite HDX – 3 Tone Sunburst
The James Tyler Studio Elite HDX in 3 Tone Sunburst is a striking blend of boutique craftsmanship, modern versatility, and unmistakable Tyler attitude. With its classic sunburst finish, black headstock, gold logo, and black hardware details, this guitar has a bold yet refined presence that feels both familiar and completely unique.
Built around a resonant alder body, this Studio Elite HDX delivers a balanced tonal foundation with clarity, punch, and warmth in all the right places. The maple neck features a Thin profile for a fast, comfortable feel, while the Indian rosewood fretboard with MOP inlays and wide/tall frets makes bends, vibrato, and fast passages feel effortless across the entire neck.

The HSS pickup configuration gives this guitar an impressive tonal range. A pair of slanted JTS5 Hot Laura single coils in the neck and middle positions provide articulate cleans, dynamic response, and vintage-inspired character with extra authority. In the bridge position, the Angry Retro humbucker adds power, sustain, and attitude for bigger rhythm sounds and expressive lead tones.
The HDX electronics make this guitar extremely flexible. With a 5-way selector, midboost preamp, preamp bypass, bridge series/parallel switching, and Add Neck & Bridge function, the Studio Elite HDX can move from glassy single-coil tones to thick boosted lead sounds and everything in between. Traditional passive tone wiring adds even more familiar control, with neck/middle on Tone 1 and bridge on Tone 2.
Premium hardware completes the package. The G2TS bridge offers excellent sustain and response, while Hipshot locking tuners keep tuning stable and make string changes quick and easy. Finished with chrome hardware, black Strat-style knobs, black pickup covers, a BWB pickguard, and 10–46 strings, this guitar is built for serious players who want world-class performance without sacrificing personality.
