James Tyler USA Studio Elite HDX – 3-Tone Sunburst
The James Tyler USA Studio Elite HDX takes the classic S-style concept into true high-performance territory. Finished in timeless 3-Tone Sunburst with a contrasting black headstock and gold JT logo, it combines traditional aesthetics with Tyler’s unmistakable design, exceptional playability and remarkably versatile electronics.
The solid alder body delivers a balanced, resonant foundation with familiar warmth, clarity and punch. Its quartersawn maple neck features Tyler’s Standard ’64 profile and an Indian rosewood fingerboard, creating a comfortably rounded feel that remains fast and precise. Wide/tall frets make bends effortless, while the contoured heel and deep treble-side cutaway provide excellent access to the upper register.
The slanted HSS configuration consists of two James Tyler JTS5 Hot Laura single coils and an Angry Retro humbucker in the bridge position. The Hot Laura pickups offer a muscular, lively take on classic single-coil tone, while the Angry Retro provides greater output, authority and harmonic richness without sacrificing clarity.
The HDX electronics greatly expand the guitar’s tonal range. Alongside the five-way selector, master volume and master tone, it features Tyler’s adjustable midboost preamp with a dedicated bypass button. A bridge series/parallel button changes the response of the humbucker, while the neck-and-bridge button unlocks additional pickup combinations—including neck and bridge together, as well as all three pickups simultaneously.
A Gotoh G2TS two-point tremolo with Tyler saddles, Hipshot locking tuners and chrome hardware complete this professional-grade instrument. A genuine G&G Tyler Signature deluxe hardshell case is included.
