EAE Scattering – Stereo Reverb Reimagined

Scattering is not a conventional reverb. Built around a complex network of interconnected delay lines, it replaces the smooth, diffuse wash of traditional digital reverbs with a vivid dance of fluttering echoes, reflections and movement across the stereo field.

The result is a reverb that feels alive. Scattering can sound bright, metallic and ringing, or dark, murky and beautifully saturated. It can create vast textural spaces, but it is equally capable of adding immediacy, modulation and dimension to riffs, leads and everyday rock-and-roll sounds.

Lost Technology, Reimagined

At the heart of Scattering are four distinct modes inspired by different permutations of the long-lost MN3011 multi-tap bucket-brigade device. Each mode rearranges the internal delay structure, opening a different path into early algorithmic reverb textures, unstable reflections and richly colored ambience.

The boundary between analog and digital is deliberately blurred. A 24-bit, variable-sample-rate digital engine is paired with analog filtering, emphasis and saturation, delivering low noise without sacrificing character. The high-headroom analog dry path keeps your original signal immediate and intact.

From Subtle Space to Beautiful Chaos

Scattering is far more than an ambient sound-design tool. It can add a subtle sense of depth, spread a mono performance across a true stereo field, create pulsing and modulated reflections, or push the reverb into smeared, saturated and unpredictable territory.

An assignable multi-mode LFO can animate any of the main front-panel controls, while expression morphing lets you move smoothly between parameter settings in real time. Adjustable rise and fall times, together with intelligent momentary or latching operation, make dramatic transitions easy to control during a performance.

Deep Control Without Sacrificing Immediacy

Every analog and digital parameter can be controlled via MIDI. Scattering offers 16 preset locations, with three available directly from the front panel and the remaining presets accessible over MIDI. Its multifunction CTRL input accepts MIDI, CV or expression signals, making it equally at home on a traditional pedalboard or inside an advanced switching system.

Scattering is also the first EAE pedal to feature true stereo analog and digital processing throughout. Whether used for a touch of movement or as the centrepiece of an expansive stereo rig, it delivers an unmistakably physical and colorful sense of space.
