120 Premium BOSS Effects
The EX-4 gives you access to 120 carefully selected BOSS effects, covering overdrive and distortion, modulation, delay, reverb and much more. Bass-specific effects are included alongside unique BOSS favorites such as Slow Gear and Slicer.
Dedicated utility blocks include foot volume, two noise suppressors, send/return and divider/mixer, while an independent global EQ lets you fine-tune the overall sound of your rig.

Gear Suite makes it easy to find great sounds without getting lost in menus. Each effect type includes multiple professionally tuned settings that can be selected simply by turning a knob.
From there, you can dive deeper into individual parameters and save your favorite setups in the EX-4's user memories.
Made to Work with Your Pedalboard
The EX-4 isn't designed to replace your favorite pedals – it's designed to make your existing board considerably more powerful.
Its flexible send/return loop allows external pedals to be positioned within the EX-4 signal chain, opening up creative combinations between your analog pedals and the EX-4's internal effects.
Intuitive Control
A full-color 2.4-inch display provides a clear overview of the complete signal chain, individual effects, parameters and menus. Dedicated FX buttons make it fast to switch effects on and off or jump directly into editing.
Two rugged multifunction footswitches feature color LEDs and can be assigned to functions including effect on/off, memory up/down, master bypass and tap tempo.
Manual Mode provides traditional stompbox-style control, while Memory Mode gives you instant access to complete preset-based setups.
Comprehensive Connectivity
Four audio jacks provide flexible mono and stereo operation, with two jacks configurable as an effects loop. External footswitches or an expression pedal can be connected for additional real-time control, while TRS MIDI In/Out allows deep integration with MIDI controllers, switching systems and external clock devices.
