Crafted by Andy Powers—best known for his work at Taylor Guitars—the A-Type is his personal vision of what an electric guitar should be. Light, expressive, and full of character, it’s a fresh take that feels instantly familiar.

The A-Type reflects Andy’s deep connection to San Diego’s vibrant surf, skate, car, and music scene. That influence is clear in the guitar’s flowing lines, sleek finishes, and emphasis on both form and function. This is a guitar shaped by motion, rhythm, and California sunshine.

Two custom pickups let you shape your voice:
- FF42 (Full Faraday) – warm, smooth, hum-reducing
- PF42 (Partial Faraday) – brighter, more open, with added snap
Pair that with the CamTail tremolo, and you’ve got expressive pitch control with excellent tuning stability—and the option to lock it out when needed.
Aesthetic With Intention
Offered in a range of bold finishes—many inspired by vintage cars and classic surfboards—each A-Type also includes custom surfboard resin knobs and finely tuned visual touches. Every detail contributes to a cohesive feel.

Every A-Type is built by a small, focused team in Southern California. Hardware is custom-made in-house. Nothing is outsourced. Nothing is rushed.
