Duellist is Jesse Daveys on Kingtone Guitars' ultimate dual-channel overdrive pedal, 2024 model!
The pedal combines two classic circuits, Tube Screamer and Bluesbreaker, which here interact in a refined and more developed harmony.
The 2024 version has side-mounted dip switches that give you access to powerful tone tools. New features include an amp-like setting that gives you an open, tube-like sound. The SRV Mod adds attack and dynamics to the classic TS sound, you'll probably want to keep that setting on all the time once you hear it.
The right channel (Steel Stringer) takes its inspiration from the classic Tube Screamer circuit with its classic mid-rich overdrive with clear definition and stringiness - but without the classic "problems" of bass dropout and excessive raspiness. The Glass, Stock and Fat switches give you further detailed control over the sound and allow you to more easily adapt the pedal to different guitars and pickups.
The left channel (Heavy Hand) is an evolution of the Bluesbreaker circuit and is a classic and clear transparent overdrive that takes your original guitar tone and lifts it to a new level. In addition to the classic volume, tone and gain controls, you also have additional control over the sound with the switch for Glass, Stock and Fat for the same control as you have over the right channel.
In combination, these two channels offer you a wealth of possibilities to take your sound to the next level. Examples:
- Set the left channel with mild crunch and use the right channel as a light boost for a mid-focused lead sound or for more distorted parts.
- Set the right channel for overdrive/crunch and the left channel as a transparent clean boost to elevate to lead and solo.
Of course, the pedal offers a variety of other options and in addition to the controls on the outside of the pedal, there are additional controls inside to shape the sound and the ability to change the order of the circuits. Perhaps one of the biggest advantages of the Duellist and of course Kingtone's other pedals as well, is the incredible dynamics they possess - if you want to control the amount of overdrive via the guitar volume or your touch, it's no problem, the Duellist offers an incredible dynamics and musicality that can only result in playing pleasure!

This is the Classic Duelist Version (2022). Massive, open, no compromise lead and rhythm tones, there is no pedal quite like it. Now with a whole host of exciting new features which include, a custom CNC Machined 6061 aluminum enclosure, easy access side switches for new tonal options and a channel order selector switch.
The Duellist features top mounted jacks, 9-18v DC, you can run it at 12 or 18v for more headroom. You can change the channel order A into B or B into A with a simple flick of the switch. Side mounted dip switch allows easy access to powerful tonal options. The new options include an amp-like setting, this gives you an open, tube-amp style tone. The SRV Mod adds attack and dynamics to the classic TS style tones, you'll probably want to leave this option on once you've heard it.. With the Duellist you can also split channel A and B so you can use it with a pedalboard switcher. In 'Split' mode, using TRS cables the Duellist functions as two separate pedals with an in and out for each side, this allows you to place the two sides of the Duellist in "different places" on your pedalboard, eg you can put other pedals in-between the two sides.
