Stereo Echorec-style Drum Delay with Gain, Echo Tone, Echo, Speed, Repeat, Short/Long, Repeat/Swell, and Per-channel Volume and Balance Controls
Interstellar Echoes: The Iconic Binson Reimagined in Stereo
Extending the mind-bending Floyd-ian textures of the Echorec to stereo proportions, the T-Rex Binson Stereophonica offers an ear-expanding reinvention of the magnetic drum delay machine famously employed by Pink Floyd on — you guessed it — “Echoes,” among other tracks in the band’s legendary repertoire. It also provided the secret sauce to Hank Marvin’s signature guitar tone. Even John Bonham used it to craft his cavernous, levee-breaking drum sound. The T-Rex Stereophonica delivers studio-quality vintage delays, up to 530 milliseconds. Housing four playback heads, this venerable disk delay also includes two switchable recording heads, comprising short and long delays. Moreover, the Repeat/Swell switch unlocks everything from standard delay sounds with feedback to a reverb-like cacophony of overlapping echoes. You also get per-channel Volume and Balance controls, studio-ready balanced I/O, a dedicated Instrument input, and MIDI I/O. Want to kick your tone into interstellar overdrive? The T-Rex Binson Stereophonica offers one of the most authentic ways to do it.
An expansive reinvention of a classic effect
The T-Rex Binson Stereophonica is one of the most feature-rich re-creations of the legendary magnetic disk echo machine we’ve seen, and it’s the first one we’ve seen with stereo capabilities. It includes two recording heads with short and long delays, selectable via the Short/Long switch, plus an adjustable drum speed of +/- 20%. You also get four switchable playback heads, each with its own dedicated Volume and Balance controls. Beyond that, the Repeat/Swell switch allows you to toggle between standard delay repeats with feedback and overlapping echoes that coalesce into a reverb-like effect. Stereo balanced I/O for studio applications, a dedicated instrument input, and MIDI I/O round out the magnificent T-Rex Stereophonica.
T-Rex Effects: guitarist designed, quality built
Danish tone pioneers T-Rex Engineering have produced quality effects pedals and guitar gear since the 1990s. T-Rex pedals are made using some of the best components in the industry, like film/foil electrolytic capacitors, lifetime-use pots, and rugged footswitches, toggles, and connectors. Some of T-Rex’s better-known pedals include the Replica digital delay and Mudhoney distortion, which can be found on the pedalboards of such top guitarists as David Gilmour, John Mayer, Mark Tremonti, and Steve Morse.
