Some folks call this gauge “Skinny Top”, some call ’em “Light Top, others call ’em “Thin Top”. But everyone agrees, they’ve got one heck of a heavy bottom. Our Heavy Bottom Light Broadways are a particularly fun set because the added flexibility of the wound strings offsets the extra tension nicely, giving you a set that’s plenty powerful, but also plenty playable.
If you’ve ever played Pure Nickel strings before, these strings have even more nickel in them than the strings you’ve played in the past. That means more of that rich, full tonal character. It also means more flexibility, since the round core is thinner than it is in other sets. But these don’t sacrifice when it comes to strength or durability either, and they hold tune with the best of ’em.

I am extremely satisfied with these strings. They have a rich tone, excellent intonation, and their longevity after couple band rehearsals and one live gig is outstanding so far—it feels like they truly come alive with the guitar. I use the 10-52 set on my Les Paul guitar. I haven't broken a single string yet, even though with other brands I often had issues specifically with the high E string. Highly recommended – I will definitely buy them again. I also put a 10-46 set on my Kauffmann T 63 and I'm equally satisfied. Of course, I regularly clean the strings after every session using a MusicNomad cleaner."
