Nobels REV-mini – Mini Digital Reverb
Best known for the legendary ODR-1, Nobels has spent decades shaping the front end of guitar rigs. With the REV-mini, the Hamburg company turns its attention to the other end of the signal chain.
The REV-mini packs three classic reverb sounds, stereo operation, Freeze, Shimmer and flexible bypass options into an extremely compact enclosure. Tiny footprint, surprisingly big ambience.
Three Classic Reverb Voices
The REV-mini offers three carefully voiced reverb modes, each selected directly from the front panel and identified by its own LED colour:
-
Spring – Green: Splashy, drippy and unmistakably vintage. Perfect for surf, rockabilly, roots and classic guitar tones.
-
Plate – Red: Dense, smooth and studio-like, adding depth without getting in the way of the dry signal.
-
Hall – Blue: Wide, atmospheric and expansive, ideal for ambient textures, sustained chords and spacious lead sounds.
Freeze & Shimmer
The momentary footswitch hides another layer of functionality. Simply hold it down to access an additional effect depending on the selected reverb mode.
-
Spring & Hall: Freeze captures and sustains the current reverb texture underneath your playing.
-
Plate: Shimmer adds an octave-up bloom for more ethereal and ambient sounds.
No menus or complicated programming – just hold the switch and use it in real time.
Mono or Stereo
Despite its small size, the REV-mini can operate in either mono or stereo. Both input and output use TRS connections, allowing full stereo operation with suitable Y-cables.
This makes it equally useful on a compact mono pedalboard, at the end of a stereo effects chain or as part of a more elaborate dual-amp setup.
True or Buffered Bypass
A dedicated switch lets you choose between true bypass and buffered bypass.
True bypass completely removes the effect from the signal path when disengaged, while buffered bypass helps maintain signal strength through longer cable runs and larger pedalboards.
Simple Controls, Serious Processing
Dedicated Size, Blend and Tone controls make it quick to move from subtle room-like ambience to huge, lingering spaces.
Internally, the REV-mini uses 48 kHz / 32-bit DSP with a 106 dB dynamic range for clean, detailed and low-noise reverb processing.
Built for the Pedalboard
Like other current Nobels pedals, the REV-mini includes four integrated Mounty-P mounting plates for secure pedalboard installation, along with glow-in-the-dark pointer knobs for improved visibility on dark stages.
