JHS Pedals AT Mini – Andy Timmons Signature Overdrive
Instant tones. Smaller footprint. Smaller price.
The JHS AT Mini takes the original V1 Andy Timmons signature AT overdrive circuit and puts it into a smaller, pedalboard-friendly enclosure. The circuit is permanently set to Andy’s preferred 100-watt voicing – the most open, loud and least compressed setting, with maximum punch and amp-like crunch.
The story began when Andy Timmons started using a JHS Angry Charlie as his main lead channel, even preferring it to the distortion channels of the boutique amplifiers he was known for. After working with JHS on his own version, the original AT – often simply called “the @” – was born.
Classic British Amp Tone
The AT Mini is designed to deliver the feel and response of a loud British amplifier stack. Expect powerful low-end punch, rich saturation, singing sustain and an unmistakably amp-like response that works equally well for rhythm and lead tones.
From dynamic bluesy drive to thick, saturated distortion, the AT Mini retains the touch sensitivity and clarity that made the original AT such a popular drive pedal.
Same V1 Circuit – Smaller Format
This is the same circuit as the original V1 AT, with the same four controls. JHS has simply moved it into a more compact enclosure and removed the wattage selector, fixing the pedal in Andy Timmons’ preferred 100-watt mode.
If you want the additional 25-watt and 50-watt voicings plus an independent footswitchable boost, the larger AT+ remains the more versatile option. If you want Andy’s preferred setting in the smallest and simplest format, the AT Mini is the one.
Controls
Volume: Controls the overall output level.
Drive: Controls gain and saturation, ranging from high-gain blues tones to powerful distortion.
EQ: Shapes the overall tonal balance. Turn clockwise for a brighter sound and counterclockwise for a darker response.
Air: Works much like an amplifier presence control, adjusting the high-end response to match different amps and rigs.
