Boes Guitars Oxen – Värmland
Handcrafted in Stockholm, Sweden
The Boes Guitars Oxen Värmland is a handcrafted electric guitar built around a resonant Honduran mahogany body and bolt-on Honduran mahogany neck. Its open-pore shellac finish allows the natural texture and character of the wood to remain both visible and tangible.
The Indian rosewood fretboard features elegant ebony binding and a comfortable 12" radius. An ABM wraparound bridge provides a direct connection between the strings and body, while Gotoh tuners ensure smooth and reliable tuning.
A DiMarzio mini humbucker in the neck position is paired with a Gotoh HB Classic at the bridge. The straightforward control layout consists of a three-way selector, one volume and one tone control, with an out-of-phase middle position for a distinctive, cutting sound with plenty of character.
Boes Guitars builds handcrafted acoustic and electric guitars with a strong focus on quality, playability and tone. Each instrument is made with carefully selected materials and close attention to the details that make a genuine difference. Traditional guitar making meets modern functionality, resulting in personal and reliable instruments for both stage and studio.
Boes Guitars is run by Karlstad-born guitar maker Jonatan Boes. After studying at Musikinstrumentakademien, Jonatan received his journeyman’s certificate in guitar making in 2020. Today, he works as part of the GuitarMakers collective on Södermalm in Stockholm.
