The sound is often compared to a small vintage tube amp pushed just past the edge of breakup—think of the rich, responsive character of an old Supro amplifier.
The Honey Bee Overdrive Deluxe 7K expands this classic circuit with additional tonal shaping and a built-in boost inspired by the BJFe Baby Pink Booster. The result is a far more flexible version of the Honey Bee concept—capable of everything from vintage low-gain sweetness to thicker modern overdrive tones.
At its core, the pedal still delivers the unmistakable Honey Bee character: a dynamic overdrive that responds naturally to picking strength and guitar volume. Notes bloom with warmth, chords retain their definition, and the pedal feels more like a small tube amplifier than a traditional overdrive box.
The Deluxe version adds a powerful boost section. When the boost is engaged in OD mode, two things happen simultaneously: a global boost controlled from the front panel, and an additional internal pre-boost that can be adjusted via a trim pot on the PCB. This allows the pedal to increase both distortion and overall volume at the same time, giving you far more control over how the overdrive interacts with your amplifier.
The 7K version also introduces dedicated Low Mid and High Mid controls, allowing you to precisely shape the midrange character. This makes it easy to dial in vintage, scooped, or modern forward tones and adapt the pedal perfectly to different guitars, pickups, and amplifiers.
The result is essentially a Swiss Army Knife Honey Bee—the beloved Honey Bee tone with expanded tonal control and a powerful integrated boost.
