TYCHO is based on the late 60’s Tycobrahe Octavia, the most classic of all octave up and fuzz effects! TYCHO gives you the same bubbling harmonics and thick stinging octave up tones in a sleek modern package, but still build the old school way with through hole construction and critical NOS components.

Each TYCHO is built using two matched NOS Germanium diodes, coupled to a transformer on the output to give the octave up effect and thick saturation at higher fuzz levels. Two controls are all you need, along with your guitars volume and tone controls to dial in the octave effect. The Boost control is your gain control, that adds saturation and harmonic content as the knob is increased. The Volume is your level control, plenty of output on these to push your fuzz tones!

As with most analog octave effects, the most pure octave tones are achieved with your guitars volume and tone controls reduced some, where exactly depends on your setup, guitar type and taste, but typically volume set between 7-9 and tone rolled back about halfway or more will give you the most pure octave up tones, this is emphasized most above the 10th fret. Still tons of upper octave harmonic content in all settings and throughout the fretboard, but something to note if you’re going for the classic pure octave up sound, play with your guitar controls for the most dynamic experience!

Each TYCHO is built using a pair of NOS Germanium diodes, matched Silicon transistors, NOS Mial, Vishay and Nichicon audio grade caps, and carbon film resistors, along with a steel core transformer to give you an authentic Octavia tone.

True bypass, LED indicator and 9v battery or Center Negative power jack (isolated prefered for lowest noise) all come standard with TYCHO. This first run is finished in a beautiful Purple Sparkle called “Dirty Magic” for psychedelic vibes!
