KSR EROS Boost / 3-Band EQ

EROS is not your typical boost. It will boost clean without overdrive, add a little grit, or add distortion. It has a 3-band active EQ for precision sculpting. Place it in front of your amp or pre-amp to add volume or grit to a clean or crunch channel. Or, sculpt your amp’s distortion response, as you would with a typical boost. However, you’re no longer limited to a narrow frequency range dictated by a single tone control found on a lot of classic boosts. Similarly, use it before or after the CERES / VESTA or any other pre-amp for even more control over its tones, and in order to get the most out of it based on your power amp situation.

Main Features:

  • Boost / EQ effects pedal
  • Perfect for pushing any amp while using drop-tuned or extended range guitars
  • Designed to work as clean boost, add a little grit or add distortion and provide additional control over your preamp’s sound
  • Stacked internal gain stages to mimic the behavior of full-size tube amps • Active 3-Band EQ – for detailed tone-sculpting
  • Backlit KSR logo status indicator
  • True Bypass Switching
  • Compact, pedalboard-friendly form factor
  • Manufactured in USA
  • Powered by opt. 9V DC PSU (centre -, 2.1 mm, 200 mA max. current draw)

This is not “just another TS style boost,” therefore it should not be setup in that way. e.g. don’t crank the Level and cut the Gain. Start with both at noon and go from there. The Feel (tight/fat/thick) and Mode (clean/clip/dirt) switches will lose effectiveness the lower the Gain control is set. Further, the higher Level is cranked the more internal distortion can be generated in the last gain stage, and therefore it will add distortion within the EROS coupled with a higher Gain setting. With a lower Gain setting the last stage will remain unclipped, but a huge signal will slam the front end of any amp. This can be too large a signal to achieve your desired sound. e.g. too much saturation due to lack of headroom in the amp’s first stage. In short, all the controls will interact, and there are countless ways you can run this pedal. Please experiment and share your results!!
